TIMS v2 to v3 migration roadmap – from the perspective of EFD vendors
Introduction
This document presents a brief roadmap for implementing TIMS v2 to v3 migration – specifically, how it will affect current vendors of POS and E-SDC products.
Migration Steps
1. Sandbox.online for v3 is Available
- All vendors will have access to the v3 sandbox environment from day one of the v2 to v3 migration.
- MCR will inform the vendors when the new environment is live
- Old sandbox.online will become obsolete
- Vendors must re-register on the new sandbox.online environment to get access and begin testing
- The new sandbox.online will support both v2 and v3 smart cards, allowing vendors to:
- Test their existing v2 solutions (legacy compatibility)
- Begin development and testing of their new v3-compatible systems
- All vendors will have access to the v3 sandbox environment from day one of the v2 to v3 migration.
2. Accreditation for v2 Stops
- No further accreditation of new v2 devices will be allowed on sandbox.online
- However, sandbox.online will continue to support v2 endpoints:
- TaxCore.Api for ESDC devices
- VSDC for POS devices
- This ensures a smooth transition while maintaining support for live v2 infrastructure during testing.
3. Support for v2 on v3 Production
- TIMS v3 production will also temporarily support v2 endpoints:
- TaxCore.Api for ESDC devices
- VSDC for POS devices
- At this point, vendors will be able to choose between submitting v2 or v3 requests in production (in case they become accredited for v3).
- This dual-support phase ensures operational continuity while encouraging gradual migration.
- TIMS v3 production will also temporarily support v2 endpoints:
4. Deadline for Obtaining Accreditation for v3
- Currently-accredited vendors will be given a deadline by which they will have to obtain accreditation for v3
- The MCR will define the official deadline and inform the vendors on time
5. End-of-Life for v2
- Eventually, v2 will be officially phased out.
- The MCR will define the official end-of-life date and inform the vendors and taxpayers on time
- By the end-of-life date, all vendors will be required to fully migrate to v3
Conclusion
This roadmap ensures vendors can:
- Immediately begin integration efforts in a controlled environment,
- Maintain business continuity with legacy systems during transition,
- Prepare in advance for mandatory compliance with v3 once enforced by the authorities.
