PUBLIC NOTICE ISSUED PURSUANT TO THE TAX ADMINISTRATION (TAX INVOICE MONITORING SYSTEM) REGULATIONS 2020 – TIMS Group 1 TAXPAYERS

In an effort to complete requirements stipulated by Tax Administration (TIMS) Regulation 2020, the Ministry of Customs and Revenue (the Ministry) is calling all taxpayers in Group 1 to send through their ‘Information Update Form’ and finish enrollment process. An electronic copy of these forms are found on the Ministy’s website.

The Ministry would like to remind that the enrollment process consists of issuing a secure element (smart card) needed for taxpayers to access secure portal from which they will further manage their compliance and setup EFD of their choice.

The Ministry hereby reiterates that the deadline for Group 1 has not been changed as taxpayers are given ample time to comply. Group 1 participants must complete prerequisite step of obtaining a secure element and not wait until the deadline. It is important for all taxpayers to note that compliance is a process and failure to completely install accredited EFD by 1 July 2020 will provoke an audit and penalty.

Accredited EFD components and their suppliers contact information can be found in the table on the Ministry’s website which is continuously updated with new products after being evaluated.

It is in the taxpayers best interest to establish contact with their vendors if they already have an invoicing system in place and urge them to register and become accredited. Taxpayers that do no have an existing electronic invoicing system should visit the Ministry’s website frequently for updates on accredited vendors to find the best solution that suits their businesses.
